Aaaaaand breathe. It’s been a bonkers few weeks but satisfying all the same. I’ve been finishing up a number of projects from a very special chapter book and a new annual for Puffin to my latest Big Finish script with my partner-in-crime, Mark Wright. Then there have been the proofs for Wit, Wisdom and Timey Wimey Stuff and some consultancy work on a new title from Dorling Kindersley. Phew!
Away from work, I also had the honour of being one of Mark’s Best Men as he married the lovely Paula. We had a wonderful time at the Red Lion in Burnsall, North Yorkshire. Lots of laughs, a few tears and even the chance to dance to the Van Der Valk theme (don’t ask)!
So here we are in March, with new projects on the horizon. I’ve got some more reluctant reader stories to write, another Pathfinder script plus some exciting Warhammer 40,000 projects to get underway. And in the meanwhile, I’m still writing my YA novel, the first few chapters currently sitting on a very important desk. Exciting times – perfect for the beginning of a new month. It seems a real fresh start this morning.
And just as I type this, a parcel plops through the door containing my copy of The Black Library Anthology 2013/2014, featuring ‘Flayed’, a Warhammer 40,000 Death Spectres short story by yours truly. Here’s the blurb from the back of the book:

And so to the rest of the week. Tomorrow I’m looking forward to a day of writing workshops at Cheddar Grove Primary School in Bristol. Monsters, alien invasions and ghosts await. Bha-ha-ha-haaaa. Ahem. Sorry, got a little carried away there!
