How true is that? For a writer, fear can be crippling – that nagging voice at the back of your head that says: “You’re rubbish. This is no good. You can’t do this.”
Every writer experiences The Fear from time to time. As Sir Tom once sang, it’s not unusual and you’re certainly not alone in facing it. Sometimes the only way to break out of that prison is to write anyway, hammering out words as if your life depended on it. They don’t even have to be good words to start with, but they need to be written if you’re going to turn them into something great.
