Hurrah! I’ve just got home from a great World Book Day at Air Balloon Hill Primary school to find my contributor copies of The Mammoth Book of Sherlock Holmes Abroad waiting for me.
As you can see Captain Spock approves!
The book – which features stories from a host of great writers such as Paul Finch, Alison Littlewood, Sam Stone, Stephen Volk, Mark Morris and many, many more – is out 2nd April, so not long to wait now. My story The Adventure of the Mummy’s Curse takes place in Egypt, so can see why I’m pleased with the cover.
I’m looking forward to sitting down and reading through each story in turn, starting tonight with editor Simon Clark’s intro, of course.
In fact, I’m just looking forward to sitting down full stop. It’s been a manic week, first with Radio Bristol on Monday, then heading down to Winterbourne Earls Primary School near Salisbury on Tuesday.
Wednesday, I was beavering away on the latest chapter of my Snaffles and the Moonfish Mystery ebook plus reading through scripts for Vienna Series 3, and then today it was back to Air Balloon Hill, where I’m Patron of Reading. I was creating monsters and aliens with Year Two pupils, including a vampire toilet and the terrifying Orange of Dooooooom!
So, if you’d excuse me, I’m going to have a nice cup of tea and read a bit of this month’s Doctor Who Magazine, which incidentally features my good friend and some-time partner in time Mark Wright making his DWM comic strip debut.
Space Invaders has amazing art by Mike Collins and everyone should read it, RIGHT THIS MINUTE!
No seriously, why haven’t you bought issue 484 already?
