OK, you know Throwback Thursday, that social networking thing where you’re supposed to post embarrassing pictures of yourself as a kid / spotty teen / whenever. Well, this isn’t going to be one of those. Oh no, I’m not that stupid. Instead, I’m going to leave this here:
Issue 24 of the Beano Comic Library came out when I was 10 and I loved it! It must have read it time and time and time again. It was silly, it was funny, and it make me snort with laughter. To be honest, it still does today. (There is a chance that I’ve never completely grown up!)
This chap used to make me snigger in particular – Bubble-Gum Bert, possibly the most pathetic super-villain in the world…
… which is exactly why I decided to bring him back in this week’s Beano, drawn by the ever-fantastic Wayne Thompson.
What’s Bert doing? Why, stealing the Beano Ed’s gold-plated undies! What else?
Elsewhere in the issue Wayne also provides the art for my latest Roger the Dodger script in which Roger plans his greatest! dodge! ever!!!
What is it? Well, you’ll just have to buy this week’s Beano to find out!
And, best of all, I got through the post without having an embarrassing Throwback Thursday image of me as a kid…
Curses!
