Issue 201 of Star Wars Insider is published today including part one of Starlight: First Duty, my new short fiction set within Star Wars: The High Republic.
This two-part story kicks off a new series of short stories which will see me alternating with Justina Ireland with a series of characters that we created together.
The focal point is Velko Jahen, a new administrator on Starlight Beacon who finds herself thrust into intrigue as the Republic’s recently dedicated space station copes with the fall-out of the Great Disaster.
It’s a huge honour to be writing short fiction for Insider, especially after so many years reading it in the magazine, and I’m really fond of this cast of characters, some of which you may see popping up in the High Republic comic too!
