Out now – Pathfinder Legends Shifting Sands

Screen Shot 2016-01-01 at 17.11.15Some news that completely passed me by before Christmas, but Pathfinder Legends: Shifting Sands, my final Pathfinder audio for Big Finish Productions came out at the end of December.

Based on the Mummy’s Mask Pathfinder game path and produced and directed by the wonderful John Ainsworth, it’s available on both double CD and download now.

Here’s the official blurb:

The Great Library of Tephu holds many secrets – and ways to die.

As Valeros, Ezren, Harsk and Merisiel search for the truth about the Forgotten Pharaoh, a mysterious and deadly cult closes in.

From chariot races to lost tombs, no one is safe.

Sphinxes circle in the sky, assassins lurk in the shadows and traitors hide in plain sight.

Adapting a role-playing game into a drama has been an incredibly challenging, but rewarding, task. By their nature, role-playing games follow a linear, quest-shaped form, which doesn’t naturally transfer to a play, let alone one on audio alone, but with this series Paizo have granted me real space to manoeuvre, picking these stories apart and putting them back together to form a new narrative. I hope Pathfinder fans will be pleased with the result.

Also, this one includes something I never thought I’d have chance to write, especially for audio – a chariot race! I can’t wait to hear it when my copies drop through the door. I’m sure our wonderful cast will surprise and delight me as they always have.

With this release, I pass the torch to m’colleague Mark Wright who has penned the final three instalments. In the meantime, head over to the Big Finish website to pick up your copy.
