Bristolcon is always one of my favourite conventions, yet I haven’t been able to make it for a couple of years. I’m very pleased to be back for the 2018 edition, which is taking place next Saturday at the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel in Bristol.
Here’s my schedule for the day, although I will be lurking around and about from beginning to end…
3pm – How To Become A Published Author (Programme Room 1)
Panel: Jasper Fforde, Anna Stephens, Jacey Bedford, Simon Kewin with Cavan Scott moderating. SPOILER: It’s not easy. But with a manuscript under your belt you’ve done the hard part. Our panel of professionals from the writing and publishing worlds will offer hints and tips based on their own experiences and careers to date.
7pm – Spaceship Top Trumps (Programme Room 1)
Panel: Cavan Scott, Nick Walters, Alicia Wanstall-Burke, Anne Corlett with Kevlin Henney moderating. Playground games go high-tech as we finally settle the question of which spaceship is best by rating them on a number of attributes, including special abilities, crew, and just plain looking cool.
