From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back

40 authors. 40 short stories. Celebrating 40 years of The Empire Strikes Back!

Lock up your tauntauns – From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back is out today! I’m one of the forty authors who have written a story set within the classic film to help celebrate Episode V’s fortieth anniversary.

My story, Fake it ’till you make it stars a certain green space rabbit in the form of Jaxxon who long-time readers of this blog know I’ve written exclusively for the last few years, largely in Star Wars Adventures (although I also snuck him into Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge.) This collection marks the sometime infamous character’s first prose appearance and sees him on Cloud City as the Empire comes to call!

Along with every author featured in the book, I have waived my fee and royalties for the story so the proceeds can be donated to First Book, a leading nonprofit that provides books, learning materials, and other essential materials to educators and organisations helping children in need.

To further celebrate the launch of this book and both companies’ longstanding relationships with First Book, Penguin Random House will donate $100,000 to First Book and Disney/Lucasfilm will donate 100,000 children’s books—valued at $1,000,000—to support First Book and their mission of providing equal access to quality education for all.

And that’s not all, Penguin Random House will donate $100,000 to First Book and Disney/Lucasfilm will donate 100,000 children’s books—valued at $1,000,000—to support First Book and their mission of providing equal access to quality education.

The collection is also available as an audiobook featuring a host of voice talent. My story is read by Sean Elias-Reyes who played Sifo Dyas in the Audio Finalist Star Wars Dooku: Jedi Lost.

Thanks to editor Tom Hoeler for giving me the green light that finally let me put Jaxxon where he belongs after a forty year wait!
