Free Comic Book Day at Forbidden Planet London

Have you picked up your Free Comic Book Day swag yet?

As I’m typing this, I’m heading home from London where I took part in a fab Doctor Who signing at Forbidden Planet London alongside comic book superstars Rob Williams and Al Ewing. Thanks to everyone who stood in that long, snaking queue – I hope you enjoy your comics, and that my signature at least resembled my name by the end of the hour.

Afterwards, it was off to lunch, meeting up with Rob’s better half, our intrepid editor Andrew James and Star Trek Planet of the Apes artist extraordinaire Rachael Stott (who, incidentally, nearly made me jump out of my skin when she appeared at my side during the signing!)

As everyone went their separate ways, there was just time to catch up with Samantha Béart, aka Jexie in Big Finish’s Vienna series, for a gossip before rushing for the train.

Nearly home now, and looking forward to diving into my own FCBD stash, including, of course, the special Titan Doctor Who issue.

What did you pick up?

  1. Due to no shop near my home running the FCBD event I was rather lucky that a kind soul on the 2000AD FB boards offered to pick up a copy of 2000AD and Dr. Who for me (from a Manchester store). I’d never met them before nor spoke but the kindness of strangers was great today.

Your day sounded great after the event and I’m rather jealous of it 😀

    • Hope you enjoy them. There’s a nice mixture of new stuff and reprints in the 2000AD – and the Who one is fun.
