FantasyCon 2012

The rain is falling over Brighton Pier but I don't care as I am safely holed up at Royal Albion Hotel attending FantasyCon 2012.

I can't quite believe it's been a year since we were here last. The festivities kicked off last night with the Meet and Greet Party, master of ceremonies Tim Lebbon starting proceedings with a typically entertaining speech (accompanied with the inevitable heckles.)

It was great to catch up with Tim and hear about his recent exploits in a galaxy far, far away as well as other marvelous genre bods such as Mark Morris, Rob Shearman, Will Hill, Lou Morgan, Simon Marshall Jones of Spectral Press and Amanda Rutter of Strange Chemistry.

This morning I have been tidying up a short story while I wait for the afternoon's panels to start. I'm particularly looking forward to 'Blurring Genre Boundaries' with Jonathan Green, Jonathan Oliver and other panellists who are probably not called Jonathan, plus the Q&A with Robin Hardy, director of the Wicker Man, one of my all time favourite films.

If you're at FantasyCon, come up and say hello. I'll be the one already looking bleary eyed!
