Next Friday will see me taking part in Bristol Libraries Doctor Who 50th Anniversary events.

In the afternoon I’ll be running a young person’s creative writing workshop and then will be teaming up with fellow Who writers Nick Walters and David Llewellyn for a roundtable in the evening.

And best of all, it’s all free. Bring your kids along to Bristol’s shiny new Junction 3 Library in Easton at 4pm or head back at 7pm to hear me, Nick and David chat about the world’s longest-running Science Fiction show.

Here’s the write up from the Libraries website:

Bristol Libraries will be celebrating 50 years of everyone’s favourite time-travelling Doctor at Easton’s new Junction 3 Library this November. Three writers who have produced official companion titles to the series will be visiting the library to talk about their work and inspiration in a free event.

Cavan Scott has written numerous novels, audio books and non-fiction titles based on Doctor Who and other sci-fi series (including the official “Who-ology”), David Llewellyn has authored both Doctor Who and Torchwood titles, and Nick Walters is behind a number of books relating to the “classic” series.

In addition, Cavan Scott will lead a fun and informal creative workshop for young people (aged 11-18), exploring the secrets of successful science fiction writing.

The events take place on Friday 15 November – the young people’s writing workshop is from 4pm to 5:30pm and the author talk (for readers of all ages) is from 7pm to 8:15pm.

Both events are free but places should be booked in advance at any Bristol Library or by ringing Junction 3 Library on 0117 922 3001.
