Creating stories at Hanham Library

IMG_0035I had a great time this morning at Hanham Library, leading a story workshop for the library’s Chatterbooks and Bookwurms group. We had a fun hour coming up with story plans that were packed with escalating peril and jeopardy for our heroes. Along the way we had rivers of lava, fields of grasping skeletons, furious lady-bird aliens and pug-catapults. What a creative bunch of book lovers!

Hanham Library is very special to me in that it’s my local library, and has helped instil a deep love of reading in my daughters through schemes like Chatterbooks.

It’s also a library that has currently been earmarked for either closure or significant reductions in staffing and opening hours.
A group of locals is campaigning to keep it open, and have even recorded their own campaign song! You can visit their website here!
