Celebrate Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Birthday by buying Encounters of Sherlock Holmes

Is it crass to promote Encounters of Sherlock Holmes ‘cos it’s Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s birthday?

Probably.

So I will anyway. Go get a copy. It’s edited by George Mann and features Sherlockian stories by a bunch of brilliant writers and me.

Happy birthday, Sir Arthur.

PS. Over on Facebook, Holmes editor Charles Prepolec has just reminded me of this little verse by ACD in The Lost World.

I have wrought my simple plan
If I give one hour of joy
To the boy who’s half a man,
Or the man who’s half a boy.

I hope that no matter how old I get, I will still remain half a boy, able to lose myself in tales of derring-do and high adventure. I hope I write a few more, too!
