Some good news! I’m pleased to say that I have become the Patron of Reading for Air Balloon Hill Primary School in Bristol.

What’s a Patron of Reading I hear you ask? Well, it’s an author who works with a school to promote the love of reading with its pupils. That’s not just fiction too – the scheme takes in non-fiction and comics as well.

I had a brilliant meeting with Lucy Hennessy and Julie Liley of Air Balloon Hill a couple of weeks ago, when we started to draw up plans for my work with the school and I can’t wait to get started.

My first visit in Monday 6th October, where I’ll be taking assemblies and then running workshops with year five for the rest of the day.

I’ll be blogging about this more soon, and adding a special Patron of Reading page to the site. In the meantime, if you want to find out more about the Patron of Reading scheme then check out their website.
