The last seven days have rocketed by thanks to butt-kicking space assassins, sassy NY cops from the future, shape-shifting dogs and Victorian detectives. A normal week then.
I’ve hardly had any time to turn your attention to this week’s Beano where I kick off a new run on Bananaman. I managed to cram in a gaggle of ghastly villains into my first strip with General Blight, Doctor Gloom and King Zorg making an appearance. Together the terrible trio conjure up with a scheme to super-size Mr B!
The art, once again, is by the wonderful Wayne Thompson in the style of the legendary John Geering.
Elsewhere, Roger the Dodger is roped into his Dad’s latest get rich scheme. Window cleaning Rog. Hmmm. This doesn’t bode well. In fact he seems to be getting them dirtier rather than cleaning them.
Wayne is taking a well deserved break from Roger for a couple of weeks thanks to a new arrival in his house (congrats again, mate) and so Barrie Appleby has returned to Roger, albeit drawing in Wayne’s style. Have to say, I’m chuffed to be working with yet another Beano superstar artist!
