I’m pleased to say that my The Patchwork Devil signing went ever so well at Forbidden Planet Bristol on Saturday.

A good crowd of the Bristol SF/F faithful came along to support, and I gave a little reading to introduce Inspector Tovey, the Bristolian police inspector who plays a big part in this and the follow-up, Cry of the Innocents.

I suppressed the temptation to give him an extreme Bristolian accent in the reading, although that’s how I imagine him sounding in my head!

Staying in world of Baker Street, I’m pleased to say that another of my Holmes short-stories is to be published in Associates of Sherlock Holmes, which is published by Titan Books on 23rd August 2016, edited by my good chum, George Mann.

All the stories are told from the POV of a supporting character from the canon, and I was pleased as punch when George asked me to write for none other than the Woman herself, Irene Adler.

Here’s the cover…

Associates-of-Sherlock-Holmes

And here’s the official blurb:

A brand-new collection of Sherlock Holmes stories from a variety of exciting voices in modern horror and steampunk, edited by respected anthologist George Mann. Stories are told from the point of view of famous associates of the great detective, including Lestrade, Mrs Hudson, Sherlock himself, Irene Adler, Langdale Pike, and of course, Professor Moriarty…
