The Advent of Advent

Just to prove that I don’t spend all my time writing about purple dragons and spaceships, I would like to point your browsers towards Advent Computers’ new website.

This is a project I’ve been working on for a few months now, under the editorship of my old mucker and veteran computer journo Nick Peers. The aim of the relaunched site, which has been developed by Engage Publishing, was to create a family friendly web space packed with buyer’s guides, useful tutorials and jargon-free advice.

So far I’ve written four articles for the site, including:

There are more to come in the weeks ahead.

The sheer variety of work is one of the highlights of freelancing. One minute you’re writing features about the latest Doctor Who spin-off and the next, you’re blogging about achieving marketing synergy in social media campaigns. I must admit, I’ve enjoyed getting back to my techy roots in recent months. Many, many years after leaving Future Publishing’s Computing Division, I’ve been writing tutorials for MacFormat, blog posts for Creative Bloq and freelancing on Tesco Technology and Entertainment at Future+.

And of course, then there are the further adventures of the aforementioned purple dragon bubbling away in the background.

Life certainly never has a chance to get boring.
