New Warhammer 40,000 short story – Trophies

Trophies by Cavan Scott

My second piece of Warhammer 40,000 fiction is unleashed today as part of Black Library’s Angels of Death series. A new 1,000 short story is being made available every day leading up to Sunday’s Game Day.

Today is the turn of Trophies, a tale of hunters, monsters and Death Spectres. Actually it may be slightly over 1,000 words. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone. It just means a little more Bolter for your buck.

Here’s the blurb:

Brother Grissan of the Death Spectres undertakes a mighty quest. His objective? Nothing less than the extinction of an entire alien species in the Emperor’s name. But as hunter becomes prey, Grissan may have to face the most terrifying of all enemies: the spectre of failure.

The Trophies ebook is available for just 99p from the Black Library website.

This is a bit of a 40k week for me. Today I’m finishing the second edit of my Space Marine novella, while I’ll be writing another short story later in the week. Then, on Sunday, I’ll be making my Black Library author debut at the aforementioned Games Day. If you’re coming along, do say hello.

Before that, of course, I’ll be popping up at Waterstones Gower Street with Who-0logy co-writer Mark Wright and top author Jenny Colgan to discuss Doctor Who and sign books. I believe Jenny is giving a sneak peek of her new book and after promising on Facebook, I’ll be bringing  a pot of lollies for everyone who buys a book! Bribery and corruption? Me? Never!
