New story in the BFS Journal – ‘Glory Bound’

Last week the latest BFS Journal flopped through the letter box, edited by the spiffing Stuart Douglas, Sarah Newton and Ian Hunter.

That wonderful atmospheric cover is the work of a man who has a suit made of spoons. No really, he does. His name is Tom Brown and I interview him about his work inside the issue.

In fact, I was so taken by the art for the cover – a suitably creepy Lovecraftian piece known as ‘Hand of Glory’ – that I wrote a story to match it. ‘Glory Bound’ can also be found inside the August 2013 issue and features a character from a series of short stories I have been writing on the sly currently known as the MI666 Casebook.

Who are MI66? Well, all will be revealed soon.

In the meantime, if you want to get your hand on the Journal, which also features fiction from Lavie Tidhar, Matt Forbeck and Jonathan Oliver among others (plus a collection of rather fine articles and poems) you’ll need to join the British Fantasy Society.

In the meanwhile, here’s Tom’s painting in all its abnatural glory!
