As has been just announced by BBC Books, I’ve co-written a new ‘untold history’ of the Daleks with George Mann and Justin Richards. And its name is simply… Dalek.
As a long-time Dalek nut, this has been a dream project.
We’ve pulled together everything we know about the Daleks from Doctor Who on TV, plus lashings of Dalek lore from spin-off annuals, books, audios, comics and even 1960s collectible cards.
The book is presented as a historical document written at some point in the distant future, and features pages and pages of unseen art from the galaxy’s top galleries and museums, including the legendary Braxiatel Collection.
And there’s more. The book also includes brand new Dalek short stories from Terrance Dicks, Eric Saward, Paul Magrs and Mike Tucker, with new comic strips by me, George and Mark Wright with Mike Collins providing the art and Ian Sharman, the letters.
I’d just like to pause there… I’M CO-WRITTEN A DOCTOR WHO BOOK THAT FEATURES A STORY BY TERRANCE DICKS!!!
(Aaaaand breathe… remain professional… nothing to see here…)
Sorry, I’m back.
As well as all that there are also behind-the-scenes features by George, myself, Mark, David Howe and the voice of the Daleks himself, Nicholas Briggs.
It’s going to be a beautiful book, out 26th October this year. You can pre-order it from all good bookshops, including Amazon.
I would tell you more… but I’d probably be exterminated!
