Do you hate those Facebook, Twitter or blog posts that say ‘Oooo, I’ve been doing something exciting and top secret this week…’? Me to. Unfortunately, this is one of them. I wish I could tell you what I’ve been working on over the last couple of weeks but I’d be fed to dogs if I dared open my mouth.
One thing I can talk about is Resurrection Engines, a collection of steampunk stories edited by Scott Harrison and published by Snow Books. Each tale is a retelling of a classic story in a steampunk style. My contribution is a twist on Snow White entitled ‘Fairest of them all’.
Here the complete run down of the book including the stories my fellow writers are tackling:
- Brian Herbert & Bruce Taylor (H.G. Wells)
- Lavie Tidhar (Alice in Wonderland)
- Adam Roberts (Rime of the Ancient Mariner)
- Philip Palmer (Wilkie Collins)
- Juliet E. McKenna (H. Rider Haggard)
- Jonathan Green (Moby Dick)
- Alan K. Baker (Journey to the Centre of the Earth)
- Roland Moore (White Fang)
- Scott Harrison (Jekyll & Hyde)
- Alison Littlewood (Silas Marner)
- Jim Mortimore (Robin Hood)
- Cavan Scott (Snow White)
- Kim Lakin-Smith (Peter Pan / The Island of Doctor Moreau)
- Paul Magrs (Wuthering Heights)
- Simon Bucher-Jones (A Christmas Carol)
- Rachel E. Pollock (Treasure Island)
Resurrection Engines is out on December 1st.
